Polzeath ARB
Welcome to our ARB, a supportive, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child is valued as an individual.
Our ARB provides a personalised approach to learning, supporting children with a range of additional needs to develop their communication, independence, confidence and life skills. Learning is carefully adapted to meet each child’s individual strengths, needs and interests, with opportunities to learn through structured activities, sensory experiences, play, creativity and practical exploration. Alongside their personalised provision, children are supported to be part of the wider school community wherever appropriate, developing friendships, taking part in shared experiences and celebrating their achievements.
Above all, our aim is for every child to feel safe, understood, included and successful. We celebrate progress in all its forms and work closely with families and professionals to help each pupil develop the skills and confidence they need to realise their potential.
A little sneak peak at our learning spaces. . .
We are very lucky to have a range of welcoming and well-equipped spaces designed to meet the individual needs of our pupils. Our provision includes two large, bright classrooms, a dedicated sensory room, several quieter spaces for pupils who may need time away from a busy environment, and even a space with a rock-climbing wall. We also have a fully equipped bathroom and ceiling-track hoists in one of our classrooms, the sensory room and the bathroom area.
Outside, pupils have access to a securely fenced garden with both grassed and hard-surface areas. Our raised flower bed contains plants chosen for their sensory qualities, giving pupils opportunities to explore different smells, textures and colours. We also have a play area with a climbing frame, nest swing and a wide range of outdoor toys and equipment.
