Welcome to our Year 3 class page!
We are excited to have a fantastic year of learning, discovery and fun together.
Throughout the year, we will be building on previous learning, developing independence, and encouraging children to challenge themselves in a supportive and nurturing environment.
On this page, you will find information about our learning, key dates, homework, reminders, and celebrations of the wonderful things happening in our classroom. We value the partnership between home and school and hope this page helps you stay connected with your child's learning.

Homework
Spelling
Each week, your child will be given five new spelling words to learn. These spellings will be practiced both at school and at home before being assessed the following Friday through a short dictation activity. This helps children apply their spellings accurately within sentences, rather than simply memorising individual words.
Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS)
Times Tables Rock Stars is an exciting online programme designed to help children improve their times tables recall and fluency. Weekly tournaments will be set for the class, allowing children to practice their multiplication facts in a fun and engaging way while competing against their classmates. Regular practice can make a huge difference to children's confidence and speed with times tables.
Reading and Black Belt Reader
Children should aim to read for at least 10 minutes each day. Once they have finished reading, they can log in to Black Belt Reader, an online platform that supports reading comprehension and encourages reading for pleasure. Black Belt Reader asks questions about the books children are reading, helping to develop their understanding and vocabulary while tracking their progress.
